Christmas

Christmas calendar

Today I learnt to make a Christmas calendar. It was so much fun, and the hours flew away. I started at 11.00 a clock and finished at 20.00, and the hard work was worth it. To find an activity that makes you forget time, is important. We all need to wind down, and making things is my guilty pleasure. What is yours ?

Merry Christmas

It has become a Christmas tradition to write a blog post to say merry Christmas to my readers. This year it wrote far too late;  Just ten minutes before the day is over.

How has your evening been? For some Christmas is a filled with love and joy, for some it means feeling lonely.

No matter what, today is another day. Christmas is just one of many days, and what matters most is that we try our best to make every moment count.

It’s so good to finally want to write again. Sometimes the thirst is there, at other times Its not. I like writing when it’s dark and silent, Since my thoughts can roam without distractions. I especially love writing when I have a lot of thoughts buzzing around, as it helps me to organize the jumble of nerve connections. It aligns the mess in more manageable units, so I can go to bed with a calmer mind. Christmas and other holidays have a tendency to trigger thoughts. It’s all the impressions that need to be processed and integrated in my mind. It can be small things, like the gifts I got and how that made me feel, or more essential questions, like my future or how the past has effected me. Instead of turning in my bed, I choose to turn it all around in my head. I let the thoughts free through letters and mix it all together, making a new map of the world. Life is essential about this; Understanding the world and giving it meaning. Without meaning we feel empty and lost. We need to find meaning in both good and bad experiences. If we don’t we feel depressed or anxious. We feel like something’s missing. It doesn’t matter who you are and which circumstances surrounds you. No matter how you have suffered, you can still find happiness if you manage to find the meaning in the meaningless.

I wish you all a merry Christmas. Maybe my readers also find wisdom in silent nights where thoughts can roam without interruptions?

The sound of important voices

Posted on Updated on

My little fighters.

You take out your swords every day. Sometimes it feels so heavy you can barely lift it. Sometimes it’s hard to even get out there: It’s easier to just stay under the blanket and let the storm rage. Still: You do get out there time and again. You carefully spend from your precious reserves of energy to put on the armor, and grab the sword. You peer out at the world cautiously, even if the world can be dangerous and treacherous at times. More: You dare to let me fight along with you. You dare to trust me, even if you’ve been stabbed in the back before.

My strong fighters. I see you jump over stones, even if they are high. You wade through rivers, no matter if you sometimes must try different paths to not be taken away with the current. You have battle scars, but you make them your weapon of choice. Proficient warriors are not afraid of scars, but show them to the world with pride. No one can ever take away the moments you did get to the other side of the river, or when you put on your armor after all. No one can erase these moment of victory no matter what they say. They did occur and history is history.

My wise fighters. I have never heard more inspiring battle cries. I have never heard more important voices.

Merry Christmas

I have not had time to sit down and write a proper post in far too long, and must confess I miss it. Writing has been a solace to me the last year, and I have loved to write about my thoughts and ideas. Many have said they appreciate my posts about psychology, and I will work with enhancing the quality in addition to focus on interesting content in the future.

I also want to work more on my project kindness. The idea is to encourage people to do one kind act every week, preferably to a stranger. My attitude is that we have to focus on

positive behavior if we want changes

.
If we see others doing good things, we will be inspired to be good ourselves.

With that, I want to say merry Christmas to everyone! Enjoy the time with people you care about, and be sure to appreciate it. For those who have a tough time, I hope you still focus on what’s good in life ❤

The sound of christmas glee

What do you want for christmas? Have you already made a list? Sometimes, I can be 3b18f4f805dff326ceec6429ed64303b Ch¨
a listomanic (people would never believe this, as much as I forget), and when it comes to christmas I like to write down what I want, and what I shall give to others. I try to start early with the preparations, so that I have enough time to think about what I`ll give to whom. It`s always been important for me to find good presents, and I still do. I especially like thoughtful gifts, or

cgri

gifts with meaning, and that can be challenging. If you have ideas, feel free to comment. One of the ideas I really fallen for the last year, is giving someone a heart-warming gift. Two years ago I gave my mum a «goat». This might seem strange, but I actually bought a goat. Not to her, that is, but to a little boy in Africa. She got the «evidence» of this, and loved the fact that her gift had been to make a family happy. Since she never wants anything, this was perfect for her. I`ve also found a web-page with a similar concept: You can give women better lives as gifts for others. I think many would actually appreciate it, since we often have too many socks or books, anyway. But what we don`t have is the glowing warmth of doing something good for others. This feeling is a rare gift, and what I try to evoke when I wrap gifts in self-made paper. Christmas should be about love, and for me, it is.

This year, give your loved ones meaningful holiday gifts that help women survivors of war rebuild their lives. This holiday season, browse our Gifts that Give Back catalog and honor someone special with a gift that will leave a lasting impact on women’s lives.
