I’d like to thank MirrorGirl for passing along this very excellent newscast about the use of EMDR with PTSD. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a technique developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in 1989 and is rapidly becoming one of the most popular therapeutic treatments for PTSD.

Thanks Mirrorgirl for this excellent post, which I’ve reblogged. It’s terrific to see a mainstream newscast carry this message. I’ve experienced EMDR and find it lifesaving. PTSD sufferers (and Complex PTSD sufferers – though that’s not yet recognized as a separate diagnosis) — there is hope!

And thank you again; for the reblog and for sharing the optimism. I also have seen it do it’s magic many times – and use it whenever someone wants too. Glad it has helped, and hope you will get more of the same positive experiences in the future as well. Hugs:)
