The sound of tennis court

Posted on Updated on

Some songs stick to my brain like superglue, and keep reactivating my neural pathways, adding new associations and perspectives to the ones already there. This month has had not only one, but several songs, that I just have to put on “repeat” on my iPhone, iPad or MacBook. I even put on some of them while I shower! One of my favorites right now, is Lorde with “tennis court”. I actually found it in the blog-world, unfortunately without saving the page it came from, and immediately fell in love with the strange rhythm, lyrics and melody. It`s a song that fits perfectly to society today, and I honor Lorde for an honest video that silently speaks volumes and delivers the message loud and clear (compared to all the booty-songs out there)

  And the sound goes on:

the sound of weaving

The sound of waking up

The sound of “Sweet Potato”

Protected: The sound of shaking

The sound of beautiful music

Thanks! On top of a cool video, this song killed the other ear worm that was going to make sleep difficult.

Please try another song called “LOVE CLUB” by LORDE and check the lyrics. She is the daughter of a well known New Zealand poet and wrote most of this stuff when she was fourteen. Simply stunning. New Zealand has so much talent.

No wonder:) left-handers use more of the right brain when it comes to language for example, ad/hd is also typical. Are they sure about her diagnosis ? Would be interesting if her family also has some manic traits (as it often goes together with the other mentioned traits)

We may have a lot of talent. We also have the highest rate of teen suicide in the world. And also the highest rate of suicide by FATHERS. The second highest rate of imprisonment… And… Well…

Seems like something went really wrong 😦 not good. What do you think is the problem and is the country working with solutions you think will work ?

No. The country is not working. Far too “free market” and “business” orientated. Everything has to work on a business model — including public mental health it would seem.

We have some absurd laws – The press are not allowed to report on suicides for fear of “copy cat” incidences. This, really, is just so wrong.

It’s actually turning that way in Norway too. It scares me, as I try to speak up and warn people. But it seems like it’s hard for people to look outside their own courtyards – as long as booze becomes cheaper and we can drive faster (that’s what our new government will make sure of) we are very satisfied.. 😦

I know that law: it’s a dilemma: because when famous people do commit suicide, and especially if they write about how they did it, others will, too. But that is different from not mentioning it at all, together with good information that gives hope! It’s either too little or too much in the society and lives of people today 😦

What is your solution to it? Am always looking for smart thoughts that I can pass on 🙂
